Handmade Blankets

Every child who checks into the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, Minnesota(including siblings!) for the first time receives a handmade fleece tie blanket or quilt to keep. Blankets are a cozy comfort and are cherished by many of our guests for years to come.

Ideas for handmade blankets

If supply allows, when children arrive at the Ronald McDonald House, blankets are chosen based on that child’s unique style and interests. Since each child is different, we encourage you to get creative and have fun with your fabrics! Consider styles for babies, toddlers, children and teens.

Blanket Guidelines

  • Fleece tie blankets and lap quilts are accepted
  • Size recommendations: teen, 4’x6’, infant/youth, 3’x5’
  • Out of respect for the wide ranging religious and spiritual beliefs held by our guest families, we ask that the designs not be religious in nature.
